Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is the flagship hospital of Community Medical Centers – a not-for-profit healthcare system based in Fresno, California, and the largest healthcare provider and private employer in central California. We measure up with top hospitals nationally and are the 3rd largest in California. CRMC is home to the only Level 1 Trauma Center and has the only comprehensive burn care in the Valley serving 2.5 million people within 9 counties. The 56,000 square-foot emergency department is one of the largest and busiest in the state. We have an 84 bed Level 3 NICU and a brand new pediatric specialty care unit. Future plans include building a women and children’s facility on campus and expanding with 65 additional beds.

The burn center in Fresno, California is one of 122 burn centers across the nation. The regional burn center cares for adult and pediatric burn survivors from 7 referral counties. The 10 bed Leon S. Peters Burn Center is a nationally known center that specializes in the continuum of care for burn survivors and their family members. Active in burn research and evidenced based care, patients are managed by a specialized burn team from admission to discharge. Patients remain in the burn center transitioning from critical care management to rehabilitation. The burn center has its own operating room and the burn nurses are trained in post-anesthesia care. The ALL RN staff is trained in the management of complex wounds. The burn center has an interdisciplinary burn team which includes a child life specialist, chaplain, dedicated social worker, nutritional specialist, physical/occupational therapists, and respiratory care practitioners. Burn prevention, outreach education, fundraising, and burn survivor support programs allow burn nurses to participate in community service opportunities.
The Burn Center additionally has a comprehensive outpatient clinic for patients discharged from the burn center or minor burns not requiring hospitalization. The outpatient clinic has a separate dedicated staff, specializing in complex wound management
Graduate of approved nursing program. Consistent demonstration of Novice / Advance Beginner clinical nursing practice proficiency. PREFERRED: Bachelors of Science (BS) in Nursing. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS MINIMUM REQUIRED: Current California Registered Nurse License. Current BLS certification.
Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 6 months of hire or transfer into job.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire or transfer into job.
