    The Sterile Processing Tech is a vital member of our mission.
    In this role you will be responsible for the sterile processing of supplies and maintenance of the operating room and various other departments within the hospital.

    Responsibilities

    • Processes surgical instrumentation by decontamination (cleaning) utilizing various mechanical or manual methods.
    • Prepares trays and packs by organizing in a prescribed manner while carefully checking for broken or missing items.
    • Performs sterilization procedures utilizing several of acceptable methodologies.
    • Reports defective or missing items to the team leader or manager.
    • Maintains storage and adequate supplies of sterilized instrumentation.
    • Provides department support to staff by assisting them in locating an item

    Qualifications

    Minimum required:

    High School diploma/GED. Experience in a medical or hospital environment, preferably working with medical/surgical supplies, OR Sterile Processing certification or currently enrolled in program.

    Preferred: 

    Microbiology and/or knowledge of steam and Ethylene Oxide sterilization.

     

    Licenses/Certifications:

     

    Minimum required:

    National Sterile Processing certification within one year of hire or entry into job.

    Preferred: 

    C.S. Technician Certification. Current BLS certification.
