The Education Development Specialist 3 position is a vital member of our mission.

Based in Fresno, California, we are a multi-specialty healthcare system comprised of four hospitals; Community Regional Medical Center, Clovis Community Medical Center, Fresno Heart & Surgical Hospital, Community Behavioral Health Center.   • Needs Assessment - Conducts research utilizing hospital, industry, and best practice data to identify educational and development opportunities. Creates various survey and assessment tools to identify educational and development opportunities. Participates in and/or chairs committees and strategic initiative planning meetings to identify educational and development opportunities. Collaborates with hospital, department and unit leadership to identify educational and development opportunities. Demonstrates ability to differentiate educational and development opportunities and performance issues.
  • Program Development and Delivery - Develops, coordinates, and implements orientation and professional development  programs to meet Community standards and policies based on organizational goals, objectives and priorities, needs assessment data and regulatory compliance requirements. Coordinates with inter-disciplinary resources to design curriculum to meet the learning needs of the organization and of the individuals (e.g. awareness, knowledge proficiency, competence). Facilitates the adult learning process by integrating the principles of adult learning into learning activities. Utilizes a variety of program delivery/innovative teaching methods including, audio/visual equipment in the classroom setting, eLearning, webinars, blogs, intranet postings, simulation/lab, etc. to facilitate the learning process, competency development and behavioral change. Develops and/or ensures access to reports that show compliance, knowledge proficiency and/or competence.
  • Program Evaluation - Evaluates the effectiveness of education and learning activities. Uses appropriate measurement methods to assess and document achievement of learning process/proficiency and competence of personnel.
  • Education/Training Documentation - Maintains required documentation for specific programs including continuing education files/reports. Develops and maintains policies and procedures as needed.
  • Working with Tools and Technology - Demonstrates competence in using function-specific and positions specific computer applications and other technology and successfully utilizes them to perform all required duties.


Minimum required:

Masters degree in Nursing, Education or related field. Five years of clinical/education experience. 



Minimum required:

Current California RN license. Current BLS certification
