Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is seeking an Lab Tech MLT (Medical Licensed Technologist)
Our high-tech Laboratory has impressed many with its functionality: Our hematology section has a new automated track connecting cell counters and a new automated unit to make peripheral smears on cases requiring manual review. Our chemistry section has an expanded chemistry automation track with the capacity for dual automated chemistry analyzers and dual automated immunoassay instruments in addition to the sample handling unit. Our microbiology section has expanded and includes new quarters for the tuberculosis and fungus laboratories that comply with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention isolation requirements. Our transfusion service has expanded quarters with increased blood storage capacity and space for new automated instrumentation planned for the near future.

Performs laboratory procedures in the technical section that is authorized by the laboratory Medical Director within the scope of their knowledge and prioritizes workflow with regard to patient's clinical status. Performs testing and reports results that are classified as Waived or Moderate complex by CLIA guidelines. Performs quality control policies and procedures in the laboratory. Performs preventative maintenance, trouble shooting and calibration procedures relative to the scope of their responsibility. Maintains documentation of quality control activities, instrument, and procedure calibrations and maintenance performed. Performs various clerical duties and Phlebotomy procedures as assigned.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
MINIMUM REQUIRED: AS/AA degree. Graduation from The National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) or Laboratory Field Services (LFS) approved training program for Medical Laboratory Technician. (U.S. military laboratory programs qualify).
PREFERRED: One to two years’ experience as a Phlebotomist or Laboratory Assistant in a clinical laboratory setting.
MINIMUM REQUIRED: Current State of California Medical Laboratory Technician license (MLT).
