Overview

Community Regional Medical Center is the flagship hospital of Community Medical Centers – a private, not-for-profit healthcare system based in Fresno, California, and the largest healthcare provider and private employer in central California. Responsibilities

Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is adding an additional position to the Command Center which is the patient flow hub of the hospital.

 

In this role you will be responsible for various aspects of patient flow throughout the continuum of care.  Excellent communication skills and critical thinking are required to coordinate the activities of the Command Center.  You will collaborate with internal and external Physicians, Supervisors and leadership to facilitate the safe movement of patients into appropriate Inpatient rooms or the appropriate area of the hospital. Command Center RN’s function in both the Transfer Center and Bed Control roles to manage patient flow and facilitate operations.  Essential Accountabilities include:

  • Maximize efficiency of hospital resources and ensure appropriate patient bed placement throughout the admission stay.
  • Assess physician orders to verify appropriate level of care for patients ensuring that the orders and the level of care match the acuity of the patient being reviewed.
  • Facilitate inter-facility and intra-facility Transfers and Direct Admissions into appropriate Inpatient rooms. 
  • Facilitate transfer of patients between hospital Inpatient Units.

The goal of the Command Center is the placement of the right patient in the right bed at the right time – every time.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements include:  Associates degree in Nursing. Two years of acute care experience as a Registered Nurse. Current RN license for the state of California and BLS certification.

 

Preferred requirements include:  Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or health related field. Three to five years of experience in Registered Nursing across a wide spectrum of Inpatient and ED specialties. Knowledge of EMTALA, call center operations, patient throughput, direct admissions and patient transfers.
