The Internal Medicine (IM) Clinical Pharmacist will play an integral role in the monitoring and management of Internal Medicine patients.  The individual will serve as a key member of the Internal Medicine Service, providing clinical support and teaching to physicians and other health care providers.  The IM Clinical Pharmacist will be responsible for education and mentorship to clinical staff pharmacists, PGY1 residents, and pharmacy students.  Other responsibilities include participation and leadership in pharmacy-related quality improvement initiatives as well as policy and/or guideline development and formulary management.
The IM Clinical Pharmacist will provide delivery of pharmaceutical care, daily monitoring of Internal  Medicine Service patients, documentation of interventions, drug information, quality assurance review of drug utilization throughout the hospital for various medical staff committees and the department.

• Doctor of Pharmacy degree (Pharm.D.)
• Successful completion of a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency or 2 years of work experience.
• Valid State of California Pharmacist license
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• Certification from the Board of Pharmaceutical Specialties
• Previous experience as a clinical pharmacist in an acute care hospital setting with involvement in formulary development, medication use evaluation, and quality assurance activities
