Fresno Heart & Surgical Hospital is adding an additional position to its Surgery Department. Fresno Heart and Surgical Hospital has five Operating Room Suites and one Hybrid OR. We perform approximately 3300 surgical cases per year, specializing in cardiac surgery, bariatric surgery, neurological/spinal surgery, vascular, and general surgery. Our surgical suites are integrated with Storz laparoscopic equipment and we utilize the latest MIS technology and Epic computerized charting.


Our family-like OR team consists of Registered Nurses, Surgical Technologists, and Anesthesia Techs who collaborate to create an environment of learning and exceptional patient care. We have in-house educators who facilitate continuing education and department specific competencies for staff. Our facility is one of the most attractive and comfortable for staff, patients, and their families.

In this role you will work closely with the surgical team members. You and your team members will develop and enhance significant specialized skills that can best be honed in a specialized team like ours. Your duties as a surgery nurse may include meeting with patients and their families prior to surgery to explain the procedure that will so greatly affect them/their loved ones.


You will supervise room setup including getting the high-tech equipment ready for the surgeon to use during the procedure. At times you will scrub in, actively assisting in the surgery itself. At other times you will run the room as a circulating nurse making sure that everything is prepared for the particular procedure being performed.


After the surgery you will supervise transition of the patient to the post-operative care departments


Education Background

  • Graduate of approved nursing program.
  • Bachelors of Science Nursing (BSN) preferred

Licensure, Registration, Certification

  • Current California Registered Nurse License.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Current ACLS certification.
