Responsibilities

The Sterile Processing Technician 1 is responsible for the sterile processing of supplies and maintenance of the operating room and various other departments within the hospital.
 

Qualifications

Education
• High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE), or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required 
• Current enrollment or completion of a Sterile Processing/Central Service Technician program preferred
 
Experience
• Experience in a medical or hospital environment, preferably working with medical/surgical supplies preferred
• Microbiology and/or knowledge of steam and Ethylene Oxide sterilization preferred 
 
Licenses and Certifications
• CRCST - Certified Registered Central Services Technician Certification from HSPA preferred 
• BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) preferred
