CRMC is the flagship hospital of Community Medical Centers – a private, not-for-profit healthcare system based in Fresno, California, and the largest healthcare provider and private employer in central California. Registered Nurse Director of Medical Surgical

  • Do you have the drive and passion needed to oversee and carry out all responsibilities in a thorough and timely manner?
  • Do you have a minimum of 5 years of management experience?


In this role you will  be responsible for the development, coordination, and administration of Community Regional Medical Center's (CRMC) Medical Surgical program in accordance with CMC mission and goals. You will serve as liaison to physicians, medical groups, hospital staff, community, and vendors. You are responsible for overseeing maintenance of high quality patient care in medical and surgical units. The primary objective of this position is to work with medical and hospital staff to coordinate the delivery of comprehensive, conveniently available, high quality, cost effective medical, surgical services within CRMC.


You will work closely with nursing administration through subordinate unit managers and clinical coordinators. Assure that high quality nursing care is provided consistently throughout the organization. Establish related standards and objectives. 


You will serve as liaison with physician staff to develop strategic plans for providing patient care. 





  • Nursing educational requirements
  • Licensing and credentialing standards, and requirements for nursing
  • Hospital and business operations fundamentals
  • Ethical issues in medicine
  • Financial and budgeting operations.

 Skills in:

  • Excellent oral and written communications.
  • Leadership and management operations.
  • Delivering effective presentations on complex topics to a variety of audiences including staff, CMC Management, committees and community organizations.
  • Committee leadership and participation.
  • Making strong, firm decisions on controversial or unpopular matters.
  • Reading, analyzing and interpreting professional journals and budget reports.




  • At least five years of hospital nursing experience including at least two in a responsible management role, and Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • California RN license or eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse in California       



Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Public Health or Medical Management to work effectively with administrative management. Clinical practice experience.
