The Licensed Infection Preventionist is responsible for the prevention, investigation, monitoring, and reporting of the spread of diseases in the Behavioral Health Center, Home Health Agency, and Skilled Nursing Facilities. The Infection Preventionist works collaboratively with clinical leadership, nursing, environmental services, and quality teams to monitor infection trends, investigate exposures and outbreaks, and implement evidence-based prevention strategies tailored to both community-based and inpatient behavioral health environments. Works with the system’s infection prevention team and the rest of the CMC community to implement Infection Prevention policies, procedures, and programs. Provides Infection Prevention education, conducts epidemiological investigations, and recommends improvements. In conjunction with the Chairman of Infection Control Committee and in consultation with post-acute leadership, may institute any appropriate control measures, isolation procedures, or studies when there is an immediate infection risk to patients or personnel.
