Responsibilities

The Manager of Infection Prevention leads a proactive, data-driven program that safeguards patients, staff, and visitors from healthcare-associated infections. This role blends clinical expertise with operational leadership to drive infection prevention initiatives, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and strengthen frontline practices through education, consultation, and performance improvement. Key responsibilities include surveillance and reporting of healthcare-associated infections, investigation of infection clusters, and microbiological monitoring and remediation of the healthcare environment. 
 
With a deep understanding of nursing and patient care environments, the manager guides infection prevention specialists in identifying trends, mitigating risks, and shaping strategies that advance safety, quality, and 5 STAR performance across the organization.
 

Qualifications

Education
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or related field required
 
Experience
• 4 years of previous experience in the healthcare industry or a healthcare setting required
• Previous leadership experience in Public Health, healthcare industry, or healthcare setting preferred
 
Licenses and Certifications
• RN - Current and valid Registered Nurse license to work within the state of California required
• CBIC-CIC - Certified Infection Control required
