Responsibilities

Located on the Community Regional campus, Burnett Extended Care Center is our brand-new 154-bed transitional care facility. Purpose-built to serve patients transitioning from hospital to home, Burnett features specialized rehabilitation spaces — dedicated gym spaces with the latest technology, a complete simulated home-like environment, and innovative therapy programs — all designed to help patients regain independence and quality of life in a post-acute setting. 

 

  • Evaluate, plan, organize, and implement individualized treatment programs for patients requiring speech-language pathology therapy. 
  • Participate in case conferences, interdisciplinary coordination, and discharge planning to ensure continuity of care. 
  • Provide developmentally and culturally appropriate education to support patient and family understanding. 
  • Supervise clinical education experiences for students and assist in maintaining seven-day coverage across the rehab team.

Qualifications

Education and Experience 

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology required 
  • 2 years of experience required 

 

Licenses and Certifications 

  • SLP - State of California Speech Language Pathologist License required 
  • BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
