Responsibilities

The Activities Supervisor oversees the planning, implementation, and evaluation of activities, ensuring they are engaging and meeting the needs of the facility residents. This role is an active participant in the facility's Interdisciplinary Team (IDT), attending care plan conferences, IDT meetings, and committee meetings. The supervisor ensures facility residents have an activity plan in place and activity participation documented.

Qualifications

Education
• High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required
 
Experience
• One of the following is required
o Two years of experience in a social or recreational program within the last five years, one year of which was full-time in a patient activities program in a health care setting.
o Be an occupational therapist, art therapist, music therapist, dance therapist, recreation therapist, or occupational therapy assistant.
o Have satisfactorily completed at least 36 hours of training in a course designed specifically for this position and approved by the facility and shall receive regular consultation from an occupational therapist, occupational therapy assistant or recreation therapist who has at least one year of experience in a health care setting.
