Responsibilities

We are looking for an exceptional Sonographer 1 (are entry level medical sonographers) who thrives on a fast-paced environment, complex work, and is committed to excellence in their profession.

 

Medical Sonographers are specialized medical professionals that use sound waves to image the human body. As patient care specialists must work as both individual-care-providers and as part of a diagnostic-team under the guidance of the Ultrasound Supervisor, Radiologists, Cardiologists and/or Physician. Performs tasks abiding by policies and procedures, state and corporate regulations.

As a  Sonographer 1 you'll be in training to become a registered Medical Sonographers by the ARDMS, ARRT or CCI. Imaging techniques are dependent on a vast knowledge of human anatomy, principles of imaging, positioning techniques, biology, pathology, patient care procedures, physics and equipment instrumentation. And will participates in all mandatory staff meetings, in-services and training programs to ensure continued understanding of all departmental policies, procedures and performance improvement processes.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required
  • One of the following is required
    • Successful completion of an Allied Health Education Program (this includes but not limited to Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, Radiologic Technologist, Respiratory Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, and Registered Nurse) and 12 months of full-time clinical ultrasound/cardiac/vascular experience
    • Attending a CAAHEP-approved or CMA-approved ultrasound/cardiac/vascular technology education program
    • Bachelor's Degree and 12 months of full-time clinical ultrasound/cardiac/vascular experience

License/Certification:

  • BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
  • One of the following is required within 1 year of hire or transfer into position
    • RDMS - ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
    • RVT - ARDMS Registered Vascular Tech
    • RDCS - ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer
    • ARRT(S) - ARRT Sonography
    • ARRT(VS) - ARRT Vascular Sonography
    • RVS - CCI Registered Vascular Specialist
    • RCS - CCI Registered Cardiac Sonographer
