The Maintenance Engineer 1 is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance and repair tasks in a healthcare facility environment. This position focuses on ensuring that essential hospital equipment, furniture, and systems are operational, safe, and reliable. The role requires technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other staff members.
Accountabilities
1. Performs repairs and adjustments on hospital beds and gurneys to ensure they are functioning properly and safely for patient use.
2. Troubleshoots and repairs nurse call systems to ensure communication between patients and nursing staff is uninterrupted.
3. Maintains and repairs television systems in patient rooms and common areas to provide entertainment and information.
4. Ensures water fountains are operational and meet health and safety standards.
5. Responds to work orders in a timely manner, documents repair activity, and closes work orders upon completion.
6. Repairs and maintains hospital furniture to ensure it remains functional and safe for use.
7. Performs basic repairs on carpets and tiles, ensuring flooring is safe and aesthetically pleasing.
8. Maintains and repairs doors, including hinges, locks, and automatic mechanisms, to ensure proper functionality and security.
9. Maintains a consistent and satisfactory assignment completion rate, meeting or exceeding department standards. This includes completing tasks within specified deadlines and ensuring accuracy and attention to detail in all work performed
