Responsibilities

The Cardiac Cath Lab Manager will assume the role of STEMI Program Manager for the facility and will oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the hospital's STEMI program. Ensuring compliance with state and local EMS agency requirements. This role collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes, maintain accreditation standards, and support quality improvement initiatives for STEMI care.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Program Leadership:
    • Manage the STEMI program, ensuring alignment with local and state EMS agency requirements.
    • Develop and implement protocols for rapid diagnosis and treatment of STEMI patients.
    • Coordinate care pathways for patients across the continuum, from pre-hospital to post-discharge follow-up.
  • Compliance and Accreditation:
    • Ensure compliance with California EMS regulations and American Heart Association (AHA) guidelines.
    • Prepare for and maintain accreditation as a STEMI Receiving Center.
    • Serve as the primary liaison with EMS agencies and regulatory bodies.
  • Quality Improvement:
    • Monitor key performance metrics, including door-to-balloon time, and develop action plans for improvement.
    • Conduct regular case reviews, identify trends, and implement evidence-based best practices.
    • Lead multidisciplinary team meetings to evaluate program outcomes. 
  • Education and Training:
    • Develop and deliver STEMI-related training for staff, including physicians, nurses, and EMS providers.
    • Ensure staff are proficient in STEMI protocols and participate in regular competency assessments.
  • Data Collection and Reporting:
    • Oversee data collection and submission to state and local EMS agencies.
    • Prepare reports on program performance, trends, and compliance.
    • Utilize data analytics to drive improvements in patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Collaboration and Outreach:
    • Foster relationships with EMS providers and community partners to streamline STEMI care.
    • Coordinate community education initiatives to increase awareness of heart attack symptoms and the importance of rapid treatment.
 

Qualifications

Education
  • High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required
  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) OR other healthcare related Bachelor’s Degree preferred
Experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in the service area and leadership ability required
  • 3 years of relevant experience in the healthcare industry or a healthcare setting required
  • Previous leadership experience in the healthcare industry or a healthcare setting required
Licenses and Certifications
  • BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
  • RN - Current and valid Registered Nurse license to work within the state of California required
