In the role of Development Officer 2, you will be a key member in the success of our mission; to improve the health status of our community and promote medical education. You will be directly responsible for cultivating donor prospects and inspiring them to give, with a keen focus on major gifts of $25,000 or more. You will also manage donor engagement to support the mission and strategic business direction of Community Medical Centers. In addition, you will develop relationships with donors, prospects, and key stakeholders in the region and possess the ability to carry out key initiatives in the fundraising plan by identifying and advancing potential gift opportunities and working with key individuals to align donor interests with facility and organizational priorities. Solicit new gifts and pledges, recommend new fundraising initiatives and campaigns, and manage special projects as assigned.

· Achieve a personal revenue target of $800,000 or more, as determined annually. |
· Manage a portfolio of 100 to 120 current and prospective donors with major-gift capacity. |
· Complete at least eight (8) face to face meetings a month (2 a week). |
· Complete at least eighteen (18) major gift proposals a year. |
· Build productive relationships with donors, prospects, volunteers, colleagues, clinical staff, hospital administrators, physicians, and other key stakeholders. |
· Collaborate with others on the team in the design and implementation of donor cultivation, solicitation and stewardship plans. |
· Perform donor stewardship activities such as follow-up communication, reporting, appreciation and recognition steps, invitations to events, notification of current events and Medical Center news. |
· Serve as liaison to outside volunteer groups and guilds as needed. |
· Write compelling solicitation materials and other communications to support assigned fundraising activities. |
· Recommend and implement new campaigns, giving programs, and events as assigned. |
· Work collaboratively with other fund-development staff to maintain a productive, creative and professional environment at the Community Health Foundation office. |
· Maintain accurate and timely records of donor/prospect communications in the Foundation’s data management system. |
· Remain current and continue to build knowledge and skills in philanthropy. |
· Analyze data generated to identify, recommend and plan future strategies and tactics. |
· Ensure that donor communications and transactions adhere to all prevailing standards of professional ethics in philanthropy. |
· Performs other job-related duties as assigned. |
Education
• High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) or Completion of a CMC Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required
• Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Master's Degree preferred
Experience
• 2 years of fund-development experience with established record of fundraising success or demonstrable experience soliciting, including individual gifts of $25,000 or more required
• Fundraising experience in healthcare. Successful experience in a project-management or campaign leadership role preferred
