Responsibilities

The Manager of Financial Clearance is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the financial clearance function and respective teams, ensuring the efficient and timely processing of inpatient insurance verification, notification, authorization and financial counseling. This role focuses on optimizing workflows and procedures that enhance the overall patient experience, reduce financial risk, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards. The manager will build an expert level knowledge base of the core processes and procedures to provide necessary guidance to staff and support successful and timely completion of work. In addition, this role will help implement various strategies identified by executive leadership that support performance improvement.
 
 

Qualifications

Education
• Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or related field required
• High School Diploma, High School Equivalency (HSE) or Completion of a CHS Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate AND an additional 4 years of relevant experience may be substituted for Bachelor’s Degree
 
Experience
• 5 years of progressively responsible healthcare finance or revenue cycle experience required
 

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior supervisory or management experience preferred
  • Experience in managed care government payor (insurance companies, Medicare/Medicaid).
  • Knowledge of insurance companies.
  • Epic system experience.
  • Microsoft 365 with Teams experience.
Licenses and Certifications
• CHAM - Certified Healthcare Access Manager preferred
• EPIC - Epic Certification preferred
