We are currently seeking candidates who are interested in an exciting career in Cardiac Surgery. With the expansion of the new Heart and Lung Institute, we are seeking experienced Registered Nurses who are looking for a challenging career on our exclusive Cardiac Surgery team

 

As a nurse in one of our operating rooms, you will have the unique opportunity to partner with highly skilled surgeons and guide staff though multiple disciplines, develop close relationships with specialists and anesthesiologists alike, and be able to make a difference in the lives of thousands. You can expect to see the following types of cases: Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) on and off pump, Aortic Valve replacement(s) (both SAVR and TAVR), Mitral Valve Replacements and Repairs and many more.

Responsibilities

In this role you will promote and coordinate high quality standard peri-operative care for the Cardiac patient, in conjunction with surgeons, anesthesia, perfusion, ancillary and support staff. 

 

You will provide direct patient care in the surgical environment and works collaboratively with the surgeon and other team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Works under the direct supervision of the surgeon during the intraoperative phase. 

 

The role of the clinical nurse is to deliver patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient needs with the highest professional standard while promoting nursing excellence through continued education and research.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of approved nursing program required
  • RN - Current State of California Registered Nurse license required
  • BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
  • Adult Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 3 months of hire or transfer into job required
