Responsibilities

We are looking for a Pharmacist to join our Community Regional Emergency Medicine team! This is the largest of our three main hospitals, featuring 685 licensed beds. It is home to the only Level 1 Trauma Center and comprehensive burn center in the Valley, with an annual census surpassing 110K. Here, you will work alongside physician residents from the University of California - San Francisco, one of the first Emergency Medicine programs in the country, and precept pharmacy residents and students.

As an integrated member of the patient care team, you will serve as a drug expert and consultant to physicians, nursing staff, and other hospital personnel via formal and informal discussions, all while participating in direct patient care activities and providing comprehensive medication management. Through conducting research, you will identify ways to improve patient outcomes and highlight the importance of having dedicated clinical pharmacists in our Emergency Department. You will have the opportunity to serve as a member or chair of a corporate multidisciplinary committee in order to implement and improve upon existing workflows and policies through employing evidence-based medicine and critical thinking. In addition, you will create and review drug monographs, perform drug utilization reviews, and address drug shortages, helping advance pharmacy care in the Valley!
