The Development Officer is a vital member of our mission. In this role you are responsible for identifying and cultivating donor prospects and inspiring them to give, while connecting purpose to new gifts and pledges. Your background and experience can engage and encourage donors by helping to organize events, campaigns, and special projects as assigned.

Based in Fresno, California, we are a multi-specialty healthcare system comprised of four hospitals; Community Regional Medical Center, Clovis Community Medical Center, Fresno Heart & Surgical Hospital, Community Behavioral Health Center. Additionally, our system includes other health care facilities and a physician residency program in conjunction with the University of California, San Francisco. Our primary service area is 15,000-square-miles, and we're home to the only combined, burn and Level 1 trauma center between Los Angeles and Sacramento.

  • Achieve a personal revenue target of $250,000 or more.
  • Actively manage a portfolio of current and prospective gift donors.
  • Complete at least twelve (12) major gift proposals a year.
  • Participate in donor cultivation, stewardship and recognition events and activities.
  • Work collaboratively with other fund-development staff to maintain a productive, creative and professional environment.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of donor/prospect communications in the Foundation’s data management system.
  • Help ensure donor communications and transactions adhere to all prevailing standards of professional ethics in philanthropy.
  • General understanding of donor-relations and fund-development practices.
  • Working knowledge of business communications and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledgeable of Raiser’s Edge or similar relational database.



Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree. One or more years’ experience in professional or volunteer fundraising, event planning, communications, marketing, customer relations, public affairs, or related field.

Preferred: Experience in a healthcare. A track record of soliciting and closing philanthropic gifts.
