Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is the flagship hospital of Community Medical Centers, a private, not-for-profit healthcare system based in Fresno, California, and the largest healthcare provider and private employer in central California. We measure up with top hospitals nationally and are the 3rd largest in California, providing the central valley with the highest level of care. With 685 beds, we are home to the only Level 1 Trauma and comprehensive burn centers between Los Angeles and Sacramento. The 58,000 square-foot emergency department is one of the largest and busiest in the state! We have an 84-bed Level 3 NICU and a brand new pediatric specialty care unit.
Future plans include building a women and children's facility on campus and expanding with 65 additional beds. Our hospital serves 2.5 million people within 9 counties, averaging a daily census of 641 patients. We're affiliated with UCSF as a teaching facility and have trained 3,000 Medical Doctor's to date plus remain investing in research and training grants.
Rehab services are provided across the continuum, including a Neuroscience center and Primary Stroke Center, Joint Replacement Center of Excellence, Level III NICU, and the Leon S. Peters Rehabilitation Center.
Our staff is a balanced mix of seasoned clinicians, recent graduates and everything in between. This offers an optimal environment for mentoring and implementation of the most current evidenced based practice. We support regular continuing education to maintain currency and further develop our staff. Our therapists regularly share knowledge through mentoring and in-services.
Being located within a Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center and teaching facility provides unique opportunities. We are able to admit patients to Acute Rehab at a higher level of acuity and initiate the rehab process earlier because we have access to the specialists in the acute environment. We also work closely among the rehab therapy teams to improve continuity of care between settings. Additionally, access to the educational process offered in a teaching hospital offers opportunities to attend Grand Rounds, interact with physicians in the residency program, and learn from various healthcare professionals in the teaching environment.
Outpatient Rehabilitation Services consists of a therapist team that provides PT, OT, SLP, Nutritional, Respiratory, and Social Services at Community Outpatient Rehabilitation Center (CORC) and Neurological Outpatient Rehabilitation Center (NORC).
Our CORC OP SLP pediatric therapist position includes working with feeding and swallowing disorders; development delays in articulation, language and fluency. Our age range of patients is infant to 18 for pediatrics and you will get the opportunity to share information with other SLPs working in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and with the High Risk Infant Clinic. You will also be a part of growing the SLP Pediatric Therapy program for OP by bringing and sharing your experiences and specialty work with OTs and PTs in pediatrics. You will be a member of the Pediatric Rehabilitation Council that discusses the work that is completed for Pediatric Rehab Services throughout the continuum of CMC therapy services.
