In this role you will work closely with the Cardiovascular team members including the LVAD Coordinator, CT Surgeons, OR and Cath Lab. The population of the Cardiovascular Unit range from minimally invasive off pump heart surgery to LVAD and ECMO patients. Cardiovascular ICU nurses provide up to date comprehensive critical care through evidence based practice to patients with both surgical and medical treatments. Our nurses are highly competent and skilled to manage Cardiothoracic and other critical care patients. With opportunity for growth in skills, leadership and educational training you can receive different certifications (i.e. CMC, CSC, CCRN, etc.…). Cardiovascular ICU is a special unit which offers support and many resources for Registered Nurses.
The role of the Clinical Nurse Supervisor is to assist the Unit Manager in the planning, organizing and directing of patient care services. This position supervises the team(s) providing direct care for patients. Management and leadership skills needed include conflict management, negotiation, team building, communication, budget administration and coaching/mentoring others. Directs patient assignments, staff scheduling, patient flow, and assists in meeting financial targets by effectively assisting in managing utilization, productivity, personnel and supplies. Participates, as necessary, in team meetings and represents clinical staff on appropriate committees.
Minimum requirements include: At least 4 years of staff RN experience in area of specialty providing a full spectrum of care in a variety of situations. May substitute 2 years supervisory experience in lieu of 2 years staff RN experience. Current RN license for the state of California and BLS certification. Certifications as required for the unit. National Certification for the area of specialty, if does not have the certification, must be eligible for certification and achieve within 6 months of hire into job.
