Responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the laboratory operation and personnel performing testing and reporting test results. Performs all laboratory tests accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner following the laboratory's established policies and procedures. Communicates with nursing staff and physicians regarding patient testing issues. Provides consultation regarding laboratory testing issues. Uses knowledge of quality control, equipment operation, and clinical correlation of patient results to determine validity of testing results. Recognizes critical values and follows appropriate notification procedure.
Bachelors degree in Chemical, Physical or Biological Science or Medical Technology. State of California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License.
