Responsibilities

Under direction of the Charge/Circulating/Scrub RN/LVN assists in most aspects of the operative process. Exhibits detailed knowledge of surgical instruments and prescribed procedures to provide surgeons the appropriate sterile surgical instruments and supplies throughout the course of surgery. Responsible for scrubbing in all types of cases, turning over operating rooms between cases, stocking rooms and carts, and maintaining equipment.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIRED:

 

Education

  • High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED) or Completion of a CMC Approved Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Certificate required
  • Graduate of a recognized Surgical Technology Program preferred


Experience

  • 6 months of Surgical Technologist experience or graduation from a recognized Surgical Technology Program required


Licenses and Certifications

  • BLS - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by American Heart Association (AHA) required
