    Responsibilities

    Provides interpreting services in a culturally sensitive manner in order to facilitate communication between the limited-English proficient (LEP) patients/families and the healthcare team. Provides clerical support, answers and directs telephone calls. DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS Successfully complete contracted language provider orientation.

    Qualifications

    Education Background

    • Completion of 40-hour Healthcare Interpreter certification training or may be obtained within probationary period.
    • High School Diploma/GED.
    • Associate's degree (preferred)
    • Proficient in Medical Terminology in both English and target language

     

    Work Experience

    •  One to three years Interpreting experience.
