    By joining Community Medical Centers as a Genetic Counselor, you will be part of a comprehensive network of professionals that provides central California with the highest level of care in the region. We are currently recruiting for a full-time Genetic Counselor at Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC), our 685-bed flagship hospital and home to the only Comprehensive Burn and Level 1 Trauma Center between Los Angeles and Sacramento. Our 84-bed Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is the largest in the region and provides care for infants with complex critical care needs, including premature infants and babies with a variety of diagnoses.


    CRMC is a teaching hospital with UCSF affiliation, where you will have the unique opportunity to work with Clinical Geneticists who have the most up-to-date knowledge and resources in their field. You will provide genetic counseling and case management to prenatal and pediatric patients, with opportunities to work across disciplines with our oncology, neurology, and cardiovascular teams. As a Genetic Counselor at CRMC, you will be actively involved in clinical care, with the potential to pursue your research interests.

    As a Genetic Counselor, your main responsibilities will include providing genetic assessment, counseling, and follow-up services to patients and family members at high risk for genetic and exposure-related conditions. You will have the support and mentorship of our experienced Genetic Counseling staff and oversight from Clinical Geneticists. You will also have exciting opportunities to participate in growing programs with Cardiology, Neurology, as well as collaborate with the Genetics team at our Community Cancer Institute.     Experience and education minimum requirements:

    • Master’s degree in Genetic Counseling.
    • Successful graduation from an accredited program in genetic counseling approved by the American Council for Genetic Counseling (ACGC).

    License and certification minimum requirements:

    • Current CA Genetic Counselor license or temporary CA Genetic Counselor license.
    • Must obtain certification as a Genetic Counselor through the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) within one year of hire. 

    Preferred qualifications:

    • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus but is not required.
