    Medical Sonographers are specialized medical professionals that use sound waves to image the human body. As patient care specialists must work as both individual-care-providers and as part of a diagnostic-team under the guidance of the Ultrasound Supervisor, Radiologists and/or Cardiologists. Perform tasks abiding by Policies and Procedures, state and corporate regulations. Sonographer 2's are mid level Medical Sonographers that are registered by the ARDMS or CCI. Imaging techniques are dependent on a vast knowledge of human anatomy, principles of imaging, positioning techniques, biology, pathology, patient care procedures, physics, and equipment instrumentation. Performs two dimensional sonographic recordings of internal organs for the diagnosis of disease and study of the malfunction of organs. Participates in QA activities.


    High School Diploma and fulfill prerequisite of American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification.


    PREFERRED: Bachelor's Degree.



    General Sonographer in Medical Imaging: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification in one or more specialty area including Abdomen or OB/Gyn certification.

    Cardiac Sonographer in Cardiology: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification in one or more specialty area including Adult Echocardiography or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification in Echocardiography.
