Our hospital serves 2.5 million people within 9 counties, averaging a daily census of 641 patients. We?re affiliated with UCSF as a teaching facility; trained 3,000 Medical Doctor?s to date plus continuous invests in research and training grants.

    Responsibilities

    The Charge Nurse assists the Clinical Supervisor by serving as Primary Liaison for an assigned care area with physicians, staff, patients, and families. He/she is responsible for coordinating patient flow and staff assignments and the oversight of Patient Safety, Quality, and Regulatory activities on the assigned shift.

    Qualifications

    EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
    MINIMUM REQUIRED: Two (2) years’ experience as a Staff RN in the area of assignment or demonstrated competency by achieving a minimum 35 points on RN Competency Model Evaluation form. Six (6) months experience as a Relief Charge RN or in a team leadership role.

     

    PREFERRED: Bachelor's degree in Nursing.

     


    LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
    MINIMUM REQUIRED: Current CA Registered Nurse License. Current BLS certification. Certifications as required for the unit.
