Responsible for the coding and compliance integrity of the Charge Description Master (CDM) and provides education and notification about coding CMS, Medi-Cal and Commercial payer new reporting requirements and changes. Reviews all facility service and supply codes in accordance with Medicare, Medi-Cal and third party payer billing rules and regulations and supports institution-wide compliance.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field and five years experience in Healthcare. Eight to nine years experience in Charge Master description maintenance and compliance may be substituted in lieu of education and experience. LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS MINIMUM REQUIRED: One or more of the following current certifications: Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Certified Professional Coder-Hospital (CPC-H).
