Community Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is the flagship hospital of Community Medical Centers – a not-for-profit healthcare system based in Fresno, California, and the largest healthcare provider and private employer in central California. In this role you will assist the surgeon and surgical team by passing instruments, sutures, medications and/or supplies as appropriate. Demonstrate advanced knowledge and proficient practice in the first scrub role in the majority of surgical procedures performed at the facility. You will gather and prepare instruments, equipment and supplies for each case and according to doctors' preference cards. Establish and maintain sterile field and surgical aseptic technique. We will help you accept, prepare and label medication per policy and procedure. Collect, prepare, identify and log surgical specimens and cultures per policy. Your expertise will allow you to participate in sponge, needle and instrument counts per policy and procedure. Assist in preparation of the patient for surgical procedure i.e. shaving, positioning and draping. Transport patients by using safety straps, side rails, and proper body mechanics. You’ll need to identify breaks in technique and takes appropriate action. Clean and stock supplies and equipment for assigned area. Expectations are to adapt routine to meet the needs of the patient. Exhibit a higher level of collaboration with peers in making decisions related to surgical patient care.
