    Community Regional Medical Center in downtown Fresno is home to the only Level 1 trauma center between Los Angeles and Sacramento – a 15,000 square-mile service area.

    For central California residents, it’s an assurance that the highest level of care is nearby should you or a loved one have a traumatic injury or illness. Having a trauma team in-house and ready to respond can mean the difference between life and death for critically injured patients.

    Responsibilities

    • Collect and submit reliable data to the ACS NSQIP and/or STS, CCORP or any other clinical database.
    • This is accomplished through high-quality clinical screening, data compilation, documentation and entry into the ACS NSQIP and/or STS, CCORP, or any other clinical database of all eligible surgeries for the medical center.
    • Works closely with the members of the Department of Surgery to identify opportunities for clinical quality improvement and other special projects as may be identified.
    • Coordinates assigned tasks and provides performance improvement oversight.
    • Ensures effective communication, staff development, interdepartmental relations and personnel management.

    Qualifications

    • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
    • Five years experience in inpatient surgical nursing.
    • Clinical chart review and abstraction experience.

     

    PREFERRED: Bachelors degree. Database data entry and/or management experience. Statistical knowledge, Quality improvement or patient safety knowledge and experience.

     

    LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS MINIMUM REQUIRED:

    • Current California Registered Nurse license.
