Responsibilities include evaluating, planning, organizing and implementing specific treatment programs for individual patients. Establishing a plan of care, utilizing appropriate procedures, equipment and techniques within the scope of occupational therapy. Educates the patient and/or the caregiver about the findings of the evaluation, goals of a occupational therapy program, plan of treatment, home programs, injury prevention, and other related information. Communicates effectively and works cooperatively with other patient care team members. Assists in directing OT Assistants, Volunteers, Interns and Students in their caseloads, including treatment planning, goal setting, progress evaluation and documentation. This position is responsible for assessing, managing, and treating age-related physiological, emotional and cognitive needs of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age groups.
